Privacy Policy

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, why, and how we use it across the PCMarkets platform.

Last updated: November 12, 2025

Overview

PCMarkets.io (“PCMarkets”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) operates a decentralised prediction market platform. We take your privacy seriously and are committed to transparency about the data we process.

Because PCMarkets is a Web3 application, the majority of your interactions occur directly on public blockchains. Blockchain data is inherently public and immutable. This policy covers the limited off-chain data we do collect alongside the on-chain data that is publicly visible by design.

By accessing or using the PCMarkets platform, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the platform.

Data We Collect

Information you provide

  • Wallet addresses used to connect to the platform
  • Any information submitted via our contact or support forms
  • Market creation content (questions, descriptions, resolution criteria)
  • Preferences and settings stored locally in your browser

Information collected automatically

  • Browser type, version, and operating system
  • IP address and approximate geographic region (country level)
  • Pages visited, time on page, and navigation patterns
  • Referring URLs and search query terms
  • Device identifiers and screen resolution

What we do NOT collect

  • Your name, email address, or phone number (unless voluntarily provided)
  • Private keys, seed phrases, or any wallet credentials
  • Financial information beyond what is visible on public blockchains

How We Use Data

We use the data we collect for the following purposes:

  • Platform operation — to provide, maintain, and improve the PCMarkets platform and its features
  • Security — to detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions, abuse, and other illegal activities
  • Analytics — to understand how users interact with the platform so we can improve the experience
  • Communications — to respond to your enquiries or provide important platform updates (only if you have opted in or contacted us)
  • Compliance — to comply with applicable laws and regulations

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles.

On-Chain Data

PCMarkets operates on public blockchains (Ethereum, Arbitrum, BNB Chain). Any transactions you make — including market positions, liquidity contributions, and resolution votes — are recorded permanently on the blockchain and are publicly visible to anyone.

Your wallet address is a public identifier on the blockchain. We cannot delete or modify on-chain data. If you wish to maintain privacy at the blockchain level, you may consider using a dedicated wallet address for platform activity.

We aggregate and display on-chain data (volumes, participation counts, outcomes) on the platform. This data is sourced from public blockchain nodes and does not constitute personal data we “hold” — it is publicly available information.

Third-Party Services

We use a limited number of third-party services to operate the platform:

  • Alchemy — blockchain node infrastructure for reading and writing on-chain data. Subject to Alchemy’s privacy policy.
  • WalletConnect / Reown — wallet connection protocol. WalletConnect processes wallet session metadata. Subject to Reown’s privacy policy.
  • CoinMarketCap — real-time cryptocurrency price data displayed in the platform ticker. Subject to CoinMarketCap’s privacy policy.
  • Analytics provider — anonymised usage analytics. Data is aggregated and does not identify individual users.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.

Cookies & Tracking

PCMarkets uses cookies and similar local storage technologies to operate the platform. We use the following categories:

  • Essential cookies — required for the platform to function (e.g. wallet session state, user preferences). Cannot be disabled.
  • Performance cookies — help us understand how users interact with the platform to improve performance and reliability.
  • Analytics cookies — anonymised data about page visits and feature usage. You can opt out via our Cookie Settings page.

We do not use advertising or marketing cookies. You can manage your cookie preferences at any time from the Cookies Settings page.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect the off-chain data we hold. These include encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and regular security reviews.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We will notify affected users and relevant authorities in the event of a data breach that poses a significant risk to your rights and freedoms, in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure — request deletion of your data where it is no longer necessary (note: on-chain data cannot be deleted)
  • Right to restriction — request that we restrict processing of your data
  • Right to portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.
